TORONTO, ON, Canada, Dec. 17, 2009 -- The Innovolve Group is pleased to announce the launch of its inaugural Canadian Water Summit scheduled for June 17th, 2010 at the International Centre in Toronto.

Water is fast becoming the next 'carbon reality.' The Canadian Water Summit is a response to the market need for idea exchange and collaboration between diverse stakeholders at the forefront of innovating Canada's new water reality. The Summit will help ensure that Canada is prepared to overcome water-related challenges by facilitating solutions-oriented partnerships, building a stronger understanding of the linkages between water and critical business issues and sharing expertise on best practices and technology.

"The challenge of sustainable water management is one of the greatest that we will face in the 21st century," says Tony Maas, Director of the Freshwater Program at WWF-Canada. "By 2025, two thirds of the world population may be living in regions grappling with water scarcity. By bringing together a broad cross-section of stakeholders in one place, the Canadian Water Summit will take a big step toward addressing that challenge."

This one-day interactive learning experience will feature a mix of presentations, workshops and "open space" roundtables. The program will explore water strategy for business, water adaptation for green communities and innovation and investment. The National Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy will lead a plenary session that will examine the use and dependence of water resources in Canada's natural resource sectors focusing on challenges and opportunities for future sustainability.

The Canadian Water Summit is a collaborative effort between the Innovolve Group and advisors from Sustainable Buildings Canada, Sustainable Development Technology Canada, The Globe and Mail, University of Toronto Centre for Environment, Water Canada, Waterlution, and WWF-Canada.
