HINKLEY, CA, Nov. 17, 2010 -- In a memo yesterday, water regulators told Pacific Gas & Electric that it must provide clean drinking water to residents whose groundwater has been contaminated by hexavalent chromium.
The Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board is expcted to formally issue the order by Nov. 30.
In the meantime, PG&E is already distributing bottled water to some residents with particularly high levels of chromium-6 in their water.
