BlueInGreen's technology will improve water quality at Lake Thunderbird, OklahomaFAYETTEVILLE, AK, April 22, 2010 -- BlueInGreen®, LLC announced today, Earth Day 2010, a partnership with the Oklahoma Water Resources Board and the Central Oklahoma Master Conservancy District to improve water quality at Lake Thunderbird. BlueInGreen is an Arkansas-based company that provides innovative systems to add dissolved oxygen to water to improve and sustain environmental water quality. Lake Thunderbird serves as both a drinking water source and a recreational destination for residents in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.

The lake has suffered from low dissolved oxygen levels because of an increase of nutrients flowing into the lake over the past several years. Low oxygen levels in the water prevent the natural ecosystem from properly functioning and causes poor water quality. By economically adding large amounts of dissolved oxygen, BlueInGreen's SDOX® oxygenation system will help the lake's natural ecosystem recover and will counteract the impact of the additional nutrients.

"The improvements at Lake Thunderbird are part of a larger program of 'green'projects that the Oklahoma Water Resources Board has undertaken with the assistance of the Environment Protection Agency," said Steven Cadenhead, Environmental Programs Specialist; "It is fitting that on Earth Day we emphasize our commitment to provide high quality, affordable drinking water to the citizens of the southeast Oklahoma City area and the entire state."

BlueInGreen's patented SDOX delivery technology has been proven to lower energy and operating costs by up to 80 percent in side-by-side comparisons to conventional oxygenation methods. The SDOX will also reduce the overall cost to process drinking water by preventing water quality problems in the lake that would be expensive to treat at the drinking water plants. This project will also enhance aquatic life as well as the lives of people who enjoy the lake through boating, fishing and swimming.

"The Central Oklahoma Master Conservancy District is anxiously awaiting completion of the dissolved oxygen system currently being installed at Lake Thunderbird," said Randy Worden, District Manager. "Improving the water quality for our customers is of the utmost importance. BlueInGreen's technology holds promise to enhance the lake's water quality and increase our customers' satisfaction. "

The system at Lake Thunderbird will be operational in summer 2010.

Funding for this effort was derived from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board's state water and wastewater infrastructure stimulus money obtained through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
