ALEXANDRIA, VA, Feb. 3, 2010 -- The Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) recently announced the appointment of new members to its Board of Directors. Joining the board, effective January 2010, are Catherine R. Gerali, Metro Wastewater Reclamation District, Denver; Stephen R. Maguin, Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County; and Brian L. Wheeler, Toho Water Authority, Kissimmee, Fla.

WERF would like to offer its sincere thanks for the volunteer service of departing board members Dennis M. Diemer, East Bay Municipal Utility District; Jerry N. Johnson, Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission; and James M. Tarpy, Nashville Metro Water Services.

WERF's board represents the wide range of interests within the wastewater and stormwater communities, from small utilities to urban systems to industrial users, consultants, and government. The members of the 2010 WERF Board of Directors are:
