Dow, Shell lead dialogue on future of fresh water

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, Feb. 2, 2010 -- Dow Water & Process Solutions, a business unit of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) and a leading global supplier of advanced technologies for purification and separation processes that make water safer, cleaner and more available, will lend its expertise to the MIT Executive Forum "The Future of Fresh Water" February 17, at the Federal Reserve Bank in Houston, Tex. The event, of which Dow is a sponsor, takes place from 5:15-8:30 p.m.

As part of the event, David Klanecky, global R&D director, will preside on a panel discussing the most pressing issues in water scarcity, future impacts on the Southwest United States and the role technology plays on the future of water.

The panel, moderated by Lane Sloan, former president of Shell Chemical, includes Klanecky and the following individuals:

• Dennis Dimick, executive environmental editor for National Geographic
• Dr. Danny Reible, chair of environmental health and engineering at The University of Texas at Austin
• Herman Settemeyer, Texas Commission of Environment Quality and Water
