Tnemec Company Inc. appoints executive vice president
KANSAS CITY, MO, August 7, 2007 -- Tnemec Company Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance protective coatings for specialized industrial and architectural markets, has appointed Chase Bean as executive vice president, according to company President and CEO Pete Cortelyou. Cortelyou cited Bean's considerable knowledge and experience gained while growing sales in the company's core markets, which are water storage tanks, water and wastewater treatment, specialty architectural, industrial and processing and manufacturing. Bean is active in the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) and the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). He is a NACE Certified Coating Inspector and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. He holds an MBA from the Bloch School of Business at the University of Missouri - Kansas City.

Foster Wheeler awarded contract by IES for refinery modernization in Italy
HAMILTON, Bermuda, August 7, 2007 -- Foster Wheeler Ltd. announced today that its Milan-based subsidiary Foster Wheeler Italiana S.p.A., part of its Global Engineering and Construction Group, has been awarded a contract by Italiana Energia e Servizi S.p.A. (IES) for the engineering, procurement and construction supervision services for a modernization project at IES' Mantua refinery in northern Italy. The refinery modernization aims to produce automotive diesel complying with European Union ultra-low-sulfur specifications and reduce refinery emissions to the environment.

Cantel Medical closes the acquisition of Dialysis Services Inc.
LITTLE FALLS, NJ, August 2, 2007 -- CANTEL MEDICAL CORP. (NYSE:CMN), through its Mar Cor Purification subsidiary, has closed the acquisition of the water-related assets of Dialysis Services Inc. New aerogels could clean contaminated water, purify hydrogen for fuel cells
ARGONNE, IL, July 27, 2007 -- Scientists at the U.S. Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory have identified a new technique for cleansing contaminated water and potentially purifying hydrogen for use in fuel cells, thanks to the discovery of a innovative type of porous material. Argonne materials scientists Peter Chupas and Mercouri Kanatzidis, along with colleagues at Northwestern and Michigan State universities, created and characterized porous semiconducting aerogels at Argonne's Advanced Photon Source (APS). The researchers then submerged a fraction of a gram of the aerogel in a solution of mercury-contaminated water and found that the gel removed more than 99.99 percent of the heavy metal...
