The PBSJ Corporation, parent company of PBS&J and PBS&J Constructors Inc., has announced the recipients of grant funding for the fourth quarter of 2007 totaling more than $125,000. TAMPA, FL, Sept. 14, 2007 -- The PBSJ Corporation, parent company of PBS&J and PBS&J Constructors Inc., has announced the recipients of grant funding for the fourth quarter of 2007 totaling more than $125,000.

Grants will be administered through The PBSJ Foundation Inc., a 501(c)(3) foundation focused on helping the employee-owned subsidiaries expand their programs for charitable giving. The Foundation board meets quarterly throughout the year to consider funding requests. Fourth-quarter grant recipients include:• MaST (Math, Science & Technology) Program; Magnolia Education Foundation; Montgomery County, TX• Desire Street Academy (DSA); Desire Street Ministries; New Orleans and Baton Rouge, LA• Redbud Center Programs Launch; The Colorado River Foundation; Austin and Central Texas• Girls Go Tech; Girl Scouts of Tropical South Florida Inc.; Miami, Dade, and Monroe Counties, FL• Take Stock in Children; Bay County Education Foundation Inc.; Gulf Bay, Franklin & Walton Counties, FL• Science/Math Lab; Passport Charter School Inc.; Orlando, FL• Edward and Mary Schroeder Fund for Civil and Environmental Engineering; University of California, Davis Foundation Schroeder Endowment; CA• The PBS&J Endowed Engineering Scholarship; University of North Florida Foundation; Northeast Florida• The PBS&J Diversity Scholarship Program for Excellence in Engineering; Florida Memorial University; South Florida• A grant is also being provided to fund the next session of PBS&J's signature community outreach program, kidsclassSM, planned for the Tallahassee, FL area.

"It's very gratifying to see how our employees have embraced the opportunities provided through the Foundation, and taken them back to their local communities," said PBS&J Foundation board member Clarence Anthony. "We hope that, in the long run, this seed money helps students in engineering and the sciences achieve success in their academics and in their careers."

Since 2006, more than one-quarter-million dollars in Foundation grants have been awarded to support education initiatives throughout the United States.

The PBSJ Corporation has a long-established tradition of giving back to the communities in which its employees live and work. As the firm's professional interests have expanded nationally, so has the opportunity to reach into more communities to make a difference.
