• Deal enhances recycling and reclamation services for Veolia customers in the northeast corridor

LOMBARD, IL, May 8, 2007 -- Veolia Environmental Services (Veolia ES) Technical Solutions today announced it has acquired Marisol, Inc., a hazardous and industrial waste processing facility located in Middlesex, NJ. The acquisition provides Veolia Environmental Services customers with a broader range of services and transportation capabilities, particularly those located in the Northeast, and adds to Veolia Environmental Services' network of chemical processing facilities. In 2006, Marisol, Inc.'s total revenue was $23 million.

"Strategically, this acquisition represents a response to customer requests for further recycling and reclamation of their wastes," stated Michel Gourvennec, CEO of Veolia Environmental Services North America. He continued, "The acquisition of Marisol gives us the ability to process, consolidate, recycle and reclaim materials (in addition to our existing transfer station resources) and ship them via truck or rail. These added services give Veolia Environmental Services North America greater control over our growth within the market and satisfy our corporate commitment to incorporating greener technologies," said Gourvennec.

Marisol, Inc. is a family-owned business established in the early 1960's. The company originally specialized in fuels blending and solvent recovery. As new environmental opportunities arose and markets expanded, Marisol diversified itself to process and consolidate a wide variety of materials.

"We have been working with Marisol for over 20 years," said Philppe Martin, CEO of Veolia ES Technical Solutions. "During that time, we have developed a great respect for the company and its employees. We are proud to welcome Marisol into the Veolia family."

Through the acquisition, Veolia ES Technical Solutions expands its network of chemical processing facilities. Marisol adds to Veolia Environmental Services the capabilities to process sludges and solids into fuels; consolidate containers into bulk shipments; maximize benefits of multiple technologies with reduced transportation costs; repackage laboratory chemicals; and gain additional solvent reclamation and recovery technologies.

Details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Veolia Environmental Services North America Corp., headquartered in Lombard, IL, offers fully integrated environmental solutions to virtually all industrial, commercial, municipal and residential sectors. It is part of the Veolia Environmental Services (VES) group.
