JACKSONVILLE, FL, MARCH 29, 2017 -- One million gallons of raw sewage entered a creek in Jacksonville, Fla. Monday night. According to a release from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, an area resident called the department to report the spill, noting a foul odor coming from the creekbed.
The spill was caused by a blockage at a water treatment plant, according to First Coast News, and is not expected to affect drinking water supplies.
