MORRISVILLE, NC, Nov. 8, 2010 -- Global Resource Corp. (pinksheets:GBRC), a developer of patented energy-efficient renewable microwave-based technologies for recycling tires, upgrading petroleum products and converting other materials to higher value hydrocarbon-based fuels or carbon materials, today announced the company has filed a patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the technology that is the core of the company's patented microwave technology for use with various liquids, specifically as it applies to water purification, desalination and cleaning. The patent application was filed with the USPTO on October 8, 2010.

Mr. Ken Kinsella, CEO of Global Resource stated, "Many experts believe one of the greatest challenges for the 21st century will be clean water, which is a global concern. We believe the next opportunity for our company will be the utilization of our core patented technology for the conversion of waste water resources and the desalination of ocean water to fresh usable water. We have developed and proven in a closed test environment that our technology has absolute advantages over currently available technologies. We believe the opportunity with the water desalination market may provide one of the largest opportunities to date for our company. The pursuit of the water patents is another move toward further enhancing long-term value for our loyal shareholders."

GBRC's previously patented technology covers the use of high-frequency microwaves in the electromagnetic spectrum between 4 gigahertz and 18 gigahertz for hydrocarbons and plastics. This has applications including converting tires and other carbon based materials, such as plastics, heavy oil, tanker sludge, shale oil, drill cuttings and other waste products to carbon black, activated carbon and other high value carbon products, fuel oil, and natural gas. A complete description of the patented technology is available through the website of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
