Carol Stream, Illinois, April 7, 2004 -- A.J. Antunes & Co., a manufacturer of water filtration systems, has entered into an agreement with Aquest Incorporated granting them exclusive sales, distribution, and service responsibility for the residential markets in the U.S. and Canada.
Antunes manufactures systems that remove particulates, bacteria, cysts, and viruses under the Antunes Filtration Technologies (AFT) brand.
"This agreement, sets in motion a team effort much greater than the sum of its parts," according to Dan Wyckoff, Managing Director of the Antunes Filtration Division. "A.J. Antunes & Co. produces state-of-the-art filtration systems using proprietary membrane technology." "Aquest has built solid relationships with key OEMs and distributors over the years who rely on them for their technical expertise and innovative products."
Aquest was founded in 1983 by Bruce J. Oliver, son of Everpure founder, C.B. Oliver. Bruce Oliver was an inventor of the quick-change cartridge system that revolutionized the vending industry. As the first faucet company to come from the water treatment industry, Aquest was founded out of a concern that faucets were being manufactured primarily from brass, which contained lead and other unsafe materials. He successfully obtained patents for the first Smart® Faucets in the industry in 1987.
In January of 2003, Neil A. Oliver, son of Bruce Oliver, became President of Aquest Incorporated. The company is continuing its tradition of partnering with OEM's to design, develop and build custom water dispensing faucets from the safest materials available.
They will also continue to provide design and manufacturing services to companies who are incorporating water quality monitors into their purification equipment. Aquest is partnering with other companies to develop and market new, high tech water dispensing devices and other innovative products for existing and emerging markets throughout the world.
