Dec. 9, 2015

TALLASSEE, ALABAMA – December 8, 2015 – As water shortages and record-breaking drought conditions have affected large areas of the United States, states such as California as well as local municipalities have increasingly implemented mandates, regulations, and restrictions regarding the use of water. While this has put utilities under pressure to balance the need for revenue with the need to conserve water, Neptune Technology Group has been there to help.

Having served the water industry for more than 120 years, Neptune is well acquainted with the challenges of utilities, including droughts. It also has a history of making environmental improvements to its products and systems before they’re regulated. As an example, Neptune met the latest and strictest requirements for lead free components 14 years before they became law.

In a similar way, as the current drought conditions began and intensified, Neptune’s utility customers in drought-prone areas of the West and Southwest have found they had tools in place to increase operational and water efficiencies while meeting more stringent reporting and usage regulations.

“As states increasingly call for reductions in water usage and loss, Neptune’s present customers already have systems and components to meet new mandates and regulations – as well as likely future ones,” said Kent Murray, Vice President Marketing, Neptune Technology Group. “From our E-Coder® solid state encoder technology with pinpoint meter reading accuracy and leak detection capabilities, to state-of-the-art cloud-based solutions where homeowners can monitor and manage their own water consumption, Neptune has a history of working with customers to develop innovations that help them save water, time, and money.”
