WATERTECTONICS In 2015, WaterTectonics was contacted by Atkinson Construction for rapid response in treating water at the Mercer West project site in Seattle, WA. With onsite turbidity preventing discharge and trucking off water not keeping up, Atkinson chose to lease a skidded UltraFlo ultrafiltration system with automated controls, filtration pump, flow meter, backflush tank, and pump. LAMOTTE COMPANY LaMotte Company introduces new Ratiometric versions of their popular 2020 series turbidimeters. The model 2020t and 2020i are portable handheld units for use in the field or lab. The 2020t unit is compliant with the EPA 180.1 standard using a tungsten light source while the 2020i is compliant to the ISO standard and ideal for high-range turbidity measurements. ADVANCED DRAINAGE SYSTEMS The Advanced Drainage Systems’ water quality unit is designed with two weir plates to trap oils and total suspended solids as stormwater flows through drainage structures and into the water quality unit. This structure incorporates a bypass system, which prevents re-suspension of captured solids by diverting water flows greater than “first flush.” The lightweight structures have been designed for fast installation and easy maintenance. The Faircloth Skimmer surface drain floats on the surface of the sediment basin as it fills and drains, releasing the cleanest water near the surface instead of draining muddy water from the bottom of the basin as conventional outlets do.
