Pressure transducers
Endevco Corp. has announced an exclusive gel filling for its gage and absolute pressure transducers. The filling, "option J", resists harsh media. Reliable dynamic pressure measurements require the use of pressure transducers with an exposed silicon diaphragm. More often than not, metal diaphragms (and other forms of media isolation) reduce the frequency response and cause extreme distortion of fast events. Using a silicon diaphragm without an oil coupling offers the optimum frequency response, but is limited to media such as dry gas and some oils.

Ammonia removal
The Borough of Elverson, PA, recently installed a Bio2 Bloc® system from FBC Technologies to help with ammonia removal during cold weather. The system uses a submerged attached growth bioreactor to provide a hospitable environment for the community of bacteria (nitrosomonas, nitrobacter) which thrive on ammonia. The system is also fitted with an aeration system which warms the biomass during cooler weather, keeping the conversion of ammonia working, even down to temperatures as cold as 4 degrees C.

Bar Screen
The USFilter Envirex Cog Rake Bar Screen incorporates an articulating rake arm to remove flow debris that has been captured on a bar rack. Valve operator

Pump monitor
The RST Machine Monitor System can monitor up to eight pumps simultaneously. Data is collected whenever a pump's status changes for more than a one second interval. A total of 106,474 data points (4 MB) can be stored in the logger's flash memory. Shutoff systems
