Chlorine dioxide photometer

HF Scientific has released its new Chlorine Dioxide Pocket Photometer for measuring chlorine dioxide residuals. The photometer meets the Standard Method 4500-ClO2D DPD Colorimetric Method for measuring chlorine dioxide residuals. Microprocessor technology ensures accuracy with a range of 0–6.0 ppm and a resolution of 0.01 ppm. The instrument is packaged in a self-contained carrying case providing everything needed to conduct a test. Using four AAA batteries (up to 1000 tests), battery life is extended by an automatic shutoff feature when not in use.

Water analysis handbook

The 4th edition of Hach's free Water Analysis Handbook is now available. The 1,260 page handbook includes 200+ step-by-step procedures, a guide to chemical analysis, and a laboratory practices guide. This edition contains procedures for the new DR/2500 Spectrophotometer, electrochemical procedures for the sensION® family of products, and titrimetric procedures for Hach's Digital Titrator. The new Total Organic Carbon test is included and the process analysis section has been revised. Meter reading system

ABB Water Meters has introduced new InVISION™ technology in its new non-contact absolute encoder register. The system uses optical character recognition (OCR) to read a water meter's odometer digits. Powered by interrogation equipment, InVISION reading technology incorporates strategically positioned light emitting diodes that illuminate the meter register's odometer digits for vision. Multiple retinas focus through lenses onto the odometer digits for an absolute meter reading. Virtually 100% error-free readings are passed to a hand-held or AMR device. The new encoder design simplifies installation by replacing clumsy screw connectors with a quick-connect, screwless design.

Leak detection

Subsurface Leak Detection has announced the introduction of the new LD-12 "Professional's Plus" water leak detector. Similar to the previous LD-10 model, the LD-12 offers increased sensitivity and better sound quality. It features a large meter display of sound loudness to better pinpoint leaks during "ground miking," an On/Off switch to by-pass all filtering, and an On/Off switch to engage the "Limitter." With the Limitter switched on, no sound louder than 110 dB goes to the headphones, thereby protecting the user's hearing.

Water-driven injector

Dosmatic's new Advantage™ Turbo 100 water-driven injector has a dual-injection feature that allows users to dose two chemicals separately at different ratios or use both injectors for the same chemical at twice the strength. The unit applies acids and other chemicals accurately at varying water flows up to 100 gpm. Dosing ranges are available from 0.1% to 2.0% at operating pressures from 15 to 120 psi.

Decanting centrifuge
