CS Week, an educational event held annually for meter-to-cash professionals serving independently owned utilities, cooperatives and municipalities, will be held May 19-23 in San Antonio, TX

In addition to an exhibition and the CS Week Conference, the event includes the CS Week College, CS Week Synergy Groups and an invitation-only CS Week Executive Summit. AMI/MDM, mobile field service, marketing, energy conservation and “going green” are among the new areas encompassed in Conference 32.

Over the past three years, attendees representing 173 municipalities have taken fresh ideas back to work from numerous workshops addressing water utility issues. The CS Week Synergy Groups, including “Selecting the Right CIS” and 311 systems, consistently top the list for interest. Vendors in the exhibit hall include such industry leaders as Itron, Elster, SAP, Oracle and Systems and Software. Invitation-only demos allow attendees to schedule time for a hands-on demonstration of products and systems.

Henry Cisneros, the former Secretary of HUD and former mayor of San Antonio, is Friday’s keynote speaker. Steve Bartley, Deputy General Manager of CPS Energy, San Antonio’s municipally owned natural gas and electric company, will be the keynote speaker Wednesday, May 21. He brings broad experience working for the PUC, so should start Conference 32 with a meaningful perspective.

CS Week is the new name of the CIS Conference, which for three decades has provided information on customer service and IT systems for water, gas and electric utility managers. The new name reflects the event’s expansion of services and resources across the “Customer Experience Lifecycle” of meter-to-cash services.

The event’s mission continues to include a commitment to “expanding excellence in customer service.” It provides utility professionals at every level with timely information on the latest in customer services, business processes, software, consulting and cutting edge technologies.

The Board of Directors, Conference Planning Committee, and planning groups for CS Week Executive Summit, CS Week Synergy Groups and CS Week College are all working professionals in customer service and information technology from utility companies throughout the US and Canada.
