Aerobic digestion
Xylem’s new aerobic digester solution under its Sanitaire brand decreases energy consumption by up to 90%. The Sanitaire Vorelodos aerobic digester system combines equipment, controls and services to future-proof wastewater treatment plants by ensuring they meet current and future U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, while simultaneously reducing operational costs. An automated decanting feature and aeration control means that staff time can be invested in other activities. Suitable for newly constructed conventional activated sludge plants or upgrades to existing plants over 0.5 million gallons per day (MGD), as well as oxidation ditch upgrades and aerobic digester aeration retrofits.

Ultrasonic sensor
The Greyline DFM 5.1 is designed for “difficult liquids” that would damage regular flow meters such as wastewater, slurries, sludge, chemicals, viscous liquids and abrasives. There is no obstruction to flow and no pressure drop because the device measures flow from outside a pipe. The non-intrusive, clamp-on ultrasonic sensor fits any pipe 1/2” (12.5 mm) inside diameter or larger. The electronics/display enclosure can be mounted nearby. The DFM 5.1 includes a new digital signal processor to filter background noise and interference, and to measure flow rates accurately in liquids containing gas bubbles or solids particles.

Portable light tower
The WCDE-4X15M-8KW-MHL is a self-contained towable light tower that produces enough light to illuminate up to 8 acres. Four 1,500-watt metal halide lamps produce a total of 600,000 lumens in a wide floodlight pattern, and are mounted on a telescoping light mast that can be raised to 30 feet, making this mobile light tower ideal for emergency operations. The telescoping boom is constructed of galvanized steel, which is resistant to rust and corrosion from unpredictable outdoor weather. The boom can withstand 65 mph winds at maximum mast height with stabilizing outriggers deployed.

Measurement and control center
The DEPOLOX® 700 M analyzer is designed for measurement and limited control tasks in the drinking and process water industries. The analyzer can incorporate up to six well-proven measurement parameters: free chlorine, total chlorine, pH, oxidation reduction potential, conductivity and temperature. The device uses a 7” color touch panel for an intuitive user interface and an LED lit flow cell that can be programmed to change color in case of an alarm condition.

Performance management upgrade
SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions has upgraded its InSight asset performance management (APM) system. The secure, cloud-based interface uses data and analytics to ensure assets operate at higher levels of reliability, efficiency and output. Improved visualizations, including a new geomap feature and simplified navigations, aim to make InSight easier to use, while expanded reporting and file management features enable sharing and analysis of key data points at all levels of an organization. The new enhancements include four main capabilities: geomap and asset fleet view, modernized user interface and navigation, multi-site reporting and enhanced file management.

FOG and odor control
MICROCAT-BioPOPS are rugged, semi-submersible solid forms that slowly dissolve and release safe, naturally-occurring microbes that can reduce odor and improve fat, oil and grease (FOG) degradation. Composed of slowly dissolving, environmentally sound, biodegradable matrix material packed inside a durable, porous mesh netting, they are designed to be dropped into or suspended by a line or rope in used-water containing systems like drains, grease traps, lift stations, or sewer lines. Available in several sizes, MICROCAT-BioPOPS are ideal for installation in any drain, grease trap, lift station or sewer line experiencing odor problems and/or the buildup of FOG.

Field instrument management
Endress+Hauser introduces the Field Xpert SMT70, a rugged tablet PC for commissioning and maintenance staff to manage field instruments and document the work progress. The tablet comes preinstalled with DeviceCare device configuration software and device library —so it is ready to go, right out of the box. The Field Xpert SMT70 supports HART, PROFIBUS DP/PA, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, Modbus, CDI and Endress+Hauser service interfaces. It can connect to field instrumentation devices directly via a USB or Bluetooth wireless modem, or via a gateway, remote I/O or multiplexer to a bus system.

Service-in-place progressive cavity pump
NETZSCH Pumps North America has added to its line of FSIP (full service-in-place) NEMO® progressive cavity pumps. Designed for wear-intensive applications, the FSIP™ design has been re-engineered to provide full access to all the pumps’ rotating parts. Users can open the in-service pump housing, dismantle all rotating parts, and install them again without having to remove the pump from the pipe assembly or having to disconnect wiring. The NEMO’s rotor-stator unit can be lifted out after opening the newly designed inspection cover on the pump housing without the need for any special tools.

Portable parallel analyzer platform
Hach has expanded its Chemkey® chemistries available for the Hach SL1000 Portable Parallel Analyzer™ instrument (PPA) for drinking water applications. With this new expansion, which includes an ammonia Chemkey that tests both free and total combined ammonia, users can test up to seven total parameters simultaneously. These commonly-tested parameters will help users keep track of the quality of their drinking water and the health of their distribution system more easily than ever before. SL1000 is simple to use, offering operators of all skill levels the flexibility to test for the parameters that are relevant to their process.

Slurry cartridge single seal
Chesterton introduces the 170L Slurry Cartridge Single Seal for heavy duty applications. Engineered to operate reliably in severe slurry environments without external seal flushes in the majority of applications, the seal can help reduce water expenses, especially where clean water is scarce or costly to produce. The 170L is designed to fit Warman® AH® series pumps without pump modification. A single clamping screw prevents equipment shaft damage and simplifies seal removal in sticky or viscous fluids, or where solids have a tendency to clog up standard set screw designs.

Multi-operation survey system
Straightpoint and Tarka-Systems B.V.’s Multi Operation Survey System (MOSS) can collect data from up to six different monitoring devices on a jobsite. Featuring six 4-20 milliamp (mA) inputs that collect information when multiple types of data are required, captured by load cells, thermometers, anemometers and other technologies, it is typically applied where data needs to be gathered over a period of time. An IP67-rated, portable case, mounted on which are the connectors (also IP67 rated) that can be used while the case is closed, offers protection from the elements.

Liquid level measurement
VEGAPULS 64 accurately detects the liquid level, even in applications with high condensation. The antenna system is encapsulated in PTFE or PEEK, so there are no cavities or crevices in which product can accumulate. The surface of the material is very finely processed with diamond tools, which also considerably reduces product adhesion. In addition, special software algorithms filter out interference caused by buildup on the antenna system. Thanks to the high dynamic range of the sensor, signal attenuation caused by product deposits is largely compensated. This allows the level to be reliably detected even with contamination on the sensor.
