Automatic meter reading, security systems, process control and automation technology will be the focus of the Water Tracks at DistribuTECH, set for Jan. 20-22 in Orlando, FL.

The annual utility automation conference, now in its 14th year, will be held at the Orange County Convention Center.

To kick off the conference, two panel sessions are planned. One will focus on optimizing automatic meter reading systems, and the other on automation for optimizing security at water utilities.

The metering session will discuss the use of innovative new technologies to optimize the "value" of a mobile AMR system. Examples to be discussed include the use of AMR systems to support water conservation initiatives and enhance customer relations.

The security session will feature a group of water industry security experts discussing the new technologies flooding into the market, and the challenges ahead for the water industry.

Other sessions will include such topics as Trends, Tactics and Technologies for Water AMR; SCADA and Process Automation; Advanced Automation Applications, Enterprise Application Integration, and Communication Systems and Technologies.
