Using the company's patented aperture technology allows for detection levels of 0.05, 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 4.0 ppm, all in a dip and read procedure. Simply dip the test strip into a 250ml (8 oz) water sample for 5 seconds, with constant back-and-forth motion, shake off the excess and view through the aperture to match to the closest color.

Mercoid has just released the new series SBLT submersible level transmitter for use in groundwater and well monitoring. The transmitter measures the height of liquid above its position in the tank referenced to atmospheric pressure. It consists of a bonded foil, strain gauge encased in an all-welded 316ss housing with PVC bullet polyurethane cable. Lightning and surge protection eliminates both power supply surges and ground strike transients. A ventilation tube in the cable automatically compensates for changes in atmospheric pressure above the tank and the vent is protected by a filter.

PE pipe lining
Swagelining™ allows a new, tight-fitting polyethylene (PE) pipe to be placed inside new or existing pipelines. The system uses PE pipe which has an outside diameter slightly larger than the inside diameter of the pipe to be lined. After sections of PE are fused together to form a continuous pipe, the PE pipe is pulled through a reduction die, which temporarily reduces its diameter. This allows the PE pipe to be pulled through the existing pipeline.

Hach has announced improvements to the AutoCAT 9000 amperometric titrator, which enable the instrument to analyze sulfite according to Standard Method 4500 SO32- B, in the 0-20 mg/L range. Additional improvements include a chlorine dioxide generator efficiency method, and a simplified time-saving screening method for chlorite. The titrator is capable of measuring ppb levels of total residual chlorine (TRC), and assures compliance with NPDES and sulfite method regulations. In addition, when used to optimize the dechlorination process, the instrument can help deliver significant cost savings. Drinking water treatments plants that use chlorine dioxide will be able to optimize their process using the new chlorine dioxide generator efficiency method, and be able to quickly screen for chlorite, resulting in higher regulatory compliance and cost savings.
