Polyethylene encasement

Polyethylene Encasement (Polywrap) protects ductile iron pipe, valves, and fittings from corrosion. Protection is achieved by creating a barrier between the corrosive solid and the pipe. The wrap also has a high dielectric strength, making it ideal for protection against stray currents in the ground that also may contribute to premature corrosion. Polywrap is easily installed by the contractor hired to lay the pipe and requires no special training to install and no ongoing maintenance like other corrosion protection methods. Quality of the wrap is strictly maintained by the ANSI/AWWA C105/A21.5 standard.

Protective paper

Cortec Corporation has developed a new Super Barrier version of its EcoShield® VpCI®-144 paper for protecting metal parts from corrosion. It combines the corrosion protection of VpCI paper coating with a high-gloss, water-based barrier coating that prevents moisture from reaching metal parts wrapped inside the paper. The Super Barrier combines corrosion protection, moisture barrier properties, and oil and grease resistivity into one material to protect both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This eliminates the need to inventory multiple types of papers for different types of metal.

Corrosion monitoring suite

The Cosasco® Bluetooth® Suite enables the user to configure and collect corrosion and erosion data wirelessly with Bluetooth-enabled dataloggers, readers, and a data transfer unit. The Cosasco Bluetooth Converter adapts legacy instruments to communicate wirelessly with a handheld Transfer Unit, the only tool needed to configure and collect data from any Cosasco Bluetooth-enabled monitoring technology, including Microcor® ER, Electrical Resistance (ER), Linear Polarization Resistance (LPR) and Ultracorr® (Ultrasonic).

Tank covers

Defender™ Tank Covers from Environetics are custom manufactured from industrial grade materials to fit the profile of your new or existing wastewater treatment tank or potable water tanks. Defender odor control covers contain volatile organic compounds at their source. Low-profile, structurally supported covers minimize emission treatment volume to reduce the cost of air filtration equipment. Eliminate the ongoing expense of applying costly odor control chemicals through atomizers and misters.

Activated carbon for odor control

Cabot Norit Activated Carbon’s DARCO® H2S HF activated carbon is a specialty activated carbon, developed for removing hydrogen sulfide from air streams and eliminating sewage odors. It is designed to deliver superior hydrogen sulfide and odor removal while improving operational efficiency by reducing system pressure drop. A larger particle size gives the product a low pressure drop and high removal efficiency for harmful hydrogen sulfide. The high flow characteristics enable the product to operate efficiently under less pressure, while its high H2S removal capacity results in longer life and less frequent change outs, dramatically reducing customers’ purification costs.

Polyurethane coatings

Chemline offers an advanced line of rapid-curing polyurethane coating systems specifically engineered for water pipelines (both potable and wastewater). The unique chemistry provides long-term protection against corrosion, abrasion, impact and other mechanical damage in a highly challenging environment - nearly constant submersion in water with varying temperature, alkalinity, pH, mineral content and/or dissolved solids. Chemline coatings have been formulated to offer excellent flexibility to withstand the movement associated with the installation of pipelines. Chemline coatings build quickly and smoothly to desired thickness. Cure times are fast, making them ideal for OEMs who want to increase throughput.
