Level detector
The Opti-Float® level detector uses light instead of electricity, is non-mechanical and mercury free. UV disinfection
Aquionics has introduced the OpenLine UV disinfection system. Using open channel, low pressure, high output UV amalgam lamps, the system destroys microorganisms' reproductive abilities on a cellular level. Ultrasonic flow meter

Catalytic carbon
Siemens Water Technologies has introduced AquaCarb 1240CAT catalytic carbon, an addition to the company's Westates carbon product line for the North American market. It uses coconut shell-based carbon specially processed to offer enhanced performance capabilities over traditional catalytic carbons in water treatment. The new product can provide improved results in water quality targets for chloramine, hydrogen sulfide, and hydrogen peroxide removal. Disc filters
Arkal Spin Klin® automatic self-cleaning disc filters, available from Amiad, feature tightly stacked, finely grooved discs that are effective at capturing deformable particles such as organic solids. As water passes between the discs, particles are trapped in stopping points formed by the junctions between the grooves and shoulders of contiguous discs. Depending on the degree of filtration required - from 400 to 20 microns - there are between 18 and 32 stopping points along each grooved track. An automatic self-cleaning process triggered by pressure differential or a timer releases the compression spring on the disc stack and directs high-pressure jets of clean water at the discs, which spin free and release trapped solids. The self-cleaning cycle is quick and highly effective, while backwash volume is kept as low as 1% of product flow.
