Bio-monitor

CCB-TOX is an on-line continuous contamination bio-monitor that detects chemical and organic toxins and provides real-time alerts. It uses non-pathogenic luminescent bacteria as living sensors. The monitor continuously draws samples and when luminescent levels, which indicate toxin levels, drastically decrease relative to the successive on-line automatic tests, an alarm is triggered. CCB-TOX minimizes false alarms, is easy to use; no calibration is needed and the monthly Reagent Refill Cartridge is easily replaced.

Laboratory reporting

Labtronics has released Nexxis RM (Report Manager), a new reporting tool that centralizes the reporting for all lab informatics systems into one central location. The report manager is a new type of lab informatics product that that produces files, print jobs and real time dashboards to make all of the lab's information available from a single source. It is able to use and integrate information from instruments, LIMS and any other lab informatics system. It does this by centralizing information into standard formats and by having direct connections to other systems. It organizes data and then provides an advanced reporting process to turn the data into information.

Water quality instrument

The Ultrameter II from Myron L. Co. has been redesigned to include an LSI/Hardness Calculator, free chlorine measurements and Bluetooth® data transfer, as well as measuring conductivity, resistivity, TDS, pH, ORP, and temperature. The user can accept inferred LSI values or input known values for pH, hardness or alkalinity to allow the calculator to determine the LSI value precisely. The user can also select from grains and ppm hardness units within the calculator. ORP readings can be displayed as mV or ppm free chlorine. This new feature allows the instrument to measure a dynamic range of sanitizer concentrations wider than that of a colorimetric test kit.

TOC analyzer

GE Analytical Instruments has released the new Sievers InnovOx On-Line Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer for measuring TOC in wastewater, industrial process, and environmental samples for a wide range of industries. The InnovOx (short for "Innovative Oxidation" technology) uses Supercritical Water Oxidation (SWCO), which combines high temperature and pressure to convert an aqueous sample matrix into supercritical water, a phase in which the water is neither liquid nor gas, and where SCWO can occur. This results in highly efficient oxidation, enhanced TOC measurement accuracy and precision, and the elimination of problematic sample contamination after analysis. The system measures from 0.5 to 50,000 ppm TOC.
