USFilter will install its first FastPac™ Immersed Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) packaged plant at the Woods Valley Ranch Water Reclamation facility in Valley Center, CA. The Woods Valley Ranch area is a residential development site adjacent to the environmentally sensitive Moosa Creek.
The FastPac™ MBR package plant is designed to treat 50,000 gpd of wastewater and meet California's Title 22 unrestricted reuse quality regulations. In addition to meeting Title 22 requirements, the plant and its configuration were required to meet stringent local sewerage agency standards.
The developer of the community is required to install wastewater treatment facilities prior to obtaining the residential building permits. The effluent will irrigate the community's golf course and be used to fill the course's water features.
"Speed of delivery, installation time, and small footprint were critical to this process and paramount to the selection of the FastPac™ MBR package," said Don Bunts, project engineer for Newland Communities, the project developer. "The system utilizes the latest and most advanced wastewater treatment technology, providing exceptional water quality and allows for an extremely simple process, which met our requirements for this fast track installation."
USFilter also offered single source responsibility for the influent pumps, MBR system, disinfection system, as well as installation.
The FastPac™ MBR plant is a pre-engineered system that uses advanced membrane technology to achieve a compact and robust treatment package. It is a complete factory preassembled treatment plant that contains many of the operational features of the most advanced municipal plants. The highly automated design provides many important features to meet the demands of stringent environmental requirements. These systems are designed for applications of 100,000 gpd or less and are intended for both the developer and industrial markets.
