A new line of low-cost, microprocessor-based pump controllers has been developed to meet today's need to expand or upgrade the reliability and versatility of existing water and wastewater pumping systems.

The new line offered by Sigma Controls Inc. represents a complete system of programmable solutions for water and wastewater applications that range from wet well and clear well level control and potable water pump stations to hydro-pneumatic tank control and submersible grinder pump control. Microprocessor-based electronics constantly monitor all aspects of the facility's pump performance via such critical pump inputs as pump overload trip, motor over-temperature and seal leak.

Sigma's new Myriad system consists of the DPC Duplex Pump Controller, the QPC Triplex/Quadraplex Pump Controller, the FPC Float Pump Controller, the LM Level Meter, the Remote Telemetry Unit, the ANN2 Digital Annunciator, the BBC Bubbler Pump Controller, and the HPC Hydro Pneumatic Pump Controller.

The DPC Duplex Pump Controller provides control for two pumps and operates as constant speed or variable speed motor controls. It is user programmable with five function keys and backlit LCD display that offers alphanumeric and graphic information of all process parameters in plain English. Control parameters can be changed on site at any time. Other standard features include 1/4 din panel mount or NEMA 4X watertight enclosure; isolated 24 vDC sensor power; 4-20 mA, 1-5V, 0-5V, 0-10 vDC input; and "pop up" alarm screen.

The controller offers four analog inputs, four digital inputs, four analog outputs, four relay outputs (5 amps), and four digital outputs. Dual RS485 data ports are included for RTU and SCADA monitoring, which allows for remote digital input.

Myriad's microprocessor-based QPC Triplex/Quadraplex Pump Controller has all the essential features of the DPC and provides control and monitoring for three or four pumps.

The FPC Float Pump Controller is a microprocessor-based instrument with "smart" float monitoring. It controls duplex or triplex pump down systems as found in sewage lift stations/wet wells, WAS and RAS tanks, etc. The FPC provides control of up to three pumps with pump alternation/sequencing and pump alarm outputs. All floats are continuously monitored for float leak, float open circuit, float out of sequence, and float loop integrity.

The LM Level Meter, housed in a NEMA 4 watertight enclosure, provides continuous level monitoring from analog inputs. This user- programmable microprocessor-based indicator accepts a variety of signal inputs, and digital outputs may be configured for control of alarms. It monitors almost any liquid displayed in inches, pounds, or other units.

The microprocessor-based Myriad Remote Telemetry Unit features analog and digital inputs and outputs, and uses spread spectrum radio or lease line communications. Fully user programmable, it offers versatility in SCADA applications. Dual RS485 ports provides true peer to peer networking, and four solid state outputs will mirror remote RTU digital inputs.

The ANN2 Digital Annunciator provides continuous monitoring and annunciation of eight alarm conditions. A real-time clock/calendar allows for a historical log with time and date status of the most recent alarms. All of the ANN2 functions are user programmable with plain English menus and prompts. Again, four solid state outputs will mirror digital inputs.

The Myriad microprocessor-based system also features the BPC Bubbler Pump Controller, which provides control for two pumps, constant or variable speed, bubbler compressor, and purge valve management; and the HPC Hydro Pneumatic Pump Controller, which provides control for up to two pumps in hydro-pneumatic tank applications.

The Myriad products are available as an integrated system or individually to meet such specific applications as replacements or upgrading of older processing hardware.
