Biowater's CFIC® - Continuous Flow Intermittent Cleaning system is designed for CSO and SSO treatment. The system is easy to retrofit, offers low effluent TSS, does not require chemical dosing and can provide continuous treatment without monitoring. The basis of the CFIC® biofilm technology is the biological growth on polyethylene media that provides a protective surface area for the biology to grow. The biofilms can handle extremely high loading conditions without clogging or shock.
Colifast Alarm™ is a newly developed bacterial monitor that detects E.coli or coliforms in drinking water. The analysis is fully automated, and the results are presented to the operator within 6 to 14/15 hours. The device is placed on-site, where drinking water is tested for indicator bacteria. Possible applications are water works, elevated basins, distribution systems and vulnerable recipients like hospitals and the food and beverage industry. The fully automated monitor performs microbiological analysis that corresponds to traditional laboratory methods (100 ml presence/ absence).
Water quality monitoring
Intellitect Water has launched a new remote data collection and web display capability, known as Intellitect Gateway, that will allow managers of water distribution networks to view water quality data in real-time. The new system collects data from any number of Intellisondes that can be installed at strategic locations within the drinking water distribution network to monitor up to 12 parameters including free chlorine, total chlorine, mono-chloramine, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, pH, ORP/Redox, flow, pressure, temperature, turbidity and color.
Portable flow meter
The new battery-powered PDFM 5.0 Portable Doppler Flow Meter from Greyline is designed for simplified flow measurement of wastewater, sludge, slurries, chemicals or abrasives. The ultrasonic sensor can be mounted on the outside of metal or plastic pipes ½" diameter or larger.

Krohne recently introduced the Waterflux 3070, a new electromagnetic meter for applications in the water and wastewater industry. It is the only magnetic flowmeter with a Rilsan® lined sensor tube. Derived from a series of complex chemical operations, Rilsan is one of the few polymers in existence produced from a "green" raw material - castor beans. Rilsan PA resins have earned a preferred material status in the most demanding applications due largely to their excellent combination of thermal, physical, chemical and mechanical properties. The mag meter offers a 15 year battery life. With no inlet and outlet piping requirements, it can be installed in very narrow wells and chambers.
Pipe survey software
PipeLogix has released Version 6.4.5 of its suite of pipe survey software tools. This release represents a significant upgrade and extension of many of the product's core features. Highlights of the upgrade include the redesign of the Recording and Playback forms in the DVS module. This change enables the user to take a picture during a survey and add it with one click during live recording and from playback of videos. The program's GIS Module has also been enhanced. Users can now set the width of the highlight in the ArcMap toolbar so pipes are easier to view and locate on maps. Other enhancements include display changes for reports, importing of multiple work orders from Cityworks and a new Debris Picture report.
Hayward Flow Control has released its new Sure-Tuff BYCS Series Butterfly Valves. This new line of valves compliments the company's thermoplastic quarter turn valves and offers an economical yet corrosion resistant alternative to cast iron butterfly valves. The valves are available in sizes 2" - 8", with hand lever or gear operators. The valves feature a maximum pressure rating of 150 psi for all sizes, and a service temperature of up to 140°F. They have a PVC body and disc, with stainless steel stem and EPDM booted seat. Options include electric or pneumatic actuation, and monitoring controls such as the LHB manual limit switches for critical service applications.

Chlorine residual analyzer
The Regal Model CRA 5000 Chlorine Residual Analyzer continuously measures Free and/or Total chlorine in the disinfection process of water and wastewater. The analyzer may be used exclusively to monitor chlorine residual levels or may be integrated with the Regal Model 7009/7010 SmartValve™ for compound loop (feedback) chlorination and/or feed forward dechlorination. Advanced amperometric technology combined with intuitive setup and control features make it an easy transition for both new and experienced operators. All configuration and operation functions are made via a 4-pushbutton keypad integrated with an aligned LCD.
The In-Situ® RDO® PRO Probe uses the latest optical technology for measuring DO in demanding process environments. The probe's simple design reduces user error because the calibration coefficients and expiration clock are loaded into the sensor cap. The probe operates with no drift over long-term deployments, and the calibration will last for several months if sample fouling is minimal. The probe also reduces maintenance—no hydration, conditioning, or special storage is required. The use of membranes and filling solutions are eliminated. The probe's patented signal processing design responds quickly to oxygen and temperature changes and delivers consistent, reproducible results.
