All-Flo Pump's All-Safe™ DRM (Diaphragm Rupture Management) product instantly alerts pump operators in the event of a diaphragm rupture. Ideal for use in chemical processing applications, the system provides two layers of protection; an "early warning sensor," installed between the PTFE overlay and the backup diaphragm, detects a leak if the PTFE overlay becomes compromised. The sensor alerts pump operators of the leak before the backup diaphragm is compromised and hazardous fluid enters the air section. A second "critical leak detection sensor" is installed in the air section itself. Should both diaphragms become compromised, this sensor will detect fluid in the air section. Both the early warning and critical sensors can be configured to take a variety of actions should a leak be detected, such as turning on a warning light, sounding an audible alarm or triggering pump shut-off.

Solids monitoring

Metso has developed an online measurement technology which can help wastewater plants improve their performance and reduce the amount of chemicals used in the sludge drying process. The new Metso Low Solids Measurement system enables measurement of a media with very low solids content in difficult applications like centrifuge centrate. The technology also offers significant savings per centrifuge in polymer and centrifuge usage. The system is based on LED and laser technology. It dearates, filters, and measures the process solids. It has self-cleaning capabilities to keep the measurement optics clean for continued accurate measurement.

Dewatering pumps

Allegro Industries offers a line dewatering and sludge pumps. Five models offer continuous operation at low water levels and extended dry runs without overheating the motor. These portable, submergible pumps are excellent for manholes, vaults, construction sites, and all dewatering needs. The new DC Submersible Dewatering Pump is a totally enclosed, submersible dewatering unit. Watertight o-ring seals keep the pump's internal parts completely dry and it delivers up to 43 gpm for rapid dewatering and instant prime. It can operate on any 12 volt truck or automobile battery, and the low 30 amp draw allows for an hour of operation without starting the engine.

TOC analyzer

GE Analytical Instruments' new Sievers 5310 C Portable Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer is the first to be specifically designed for the municipal water market. The technology enables in-field, continuous monitoring of raw and finished water TOC levels for optimization of plant processes such as coagulant addition, finished drinking water monitoring for disinfection byproducts control, and distribution security monitoring. The portable instrument is the third in a series of GE's Sievers 5310 C TOC Analyzers, joining separate laboratory and online models.

Cathodic protection

The CP Sentinel Aqua-Line Rectifier manufactured by the IRT Company is used to power cathodic protection systems for monitoring corrosion of potable water tanks or tower facilities, water supply pipelines or wastewater purification systems. The automatic rectifier self adjusts 24/7 to maintain required output levels of cathodic protection necessary to protect facilities. Potential control accuracy is within ± 5mV of set point; current and voltage control is within ± 1% of set points.

Hatch railings

Designed to fit all standard models offered by the manufacturers of roof hatches, the new KeeHatch roof hatch railing system from Kee Safety can be installed by one person in less than 30 minutes. It features fewer parts to assemble than other hatch railings as well as pre-built uprights and drop-in fittings to install the horizontal rails with ease, according to the company. Used for safe egress and ingress through roof hatches, and fall protection when a hatch is open, the lightweight aluminum railings affix to the hatch and do not penetrate the roof itself.
