More than 500 exhibitors will be on hand June 20-23 for the 1999 American Water Works Association annual Conference and Exposition. They will be exhibiting the latest products, breakthrough technologies and newest service available to the drinking water industry.

The annual conference, to be held at the McCormick Center in Chicago, is expected to draw more than 12,000 attendees. The conference is known for its high-quality technical program, which covers virtually every topic of interest to the drinking water industry. This year the program includes 80 technical sessions held over four days. Topics to be addressed include water treatment, distribution, regulations, technology and public information. AWWA also will present 11 in-depth workshops on a variety of topics.

For many, the real value of the AWWA Annual Conference and Exposition is in the opportunity to meet others from around the world and share experiences and insights. There will be a variety of networking opportunities including the third annual Attendee Reception. This years Water Industry Luncheon will feature humor columnist Dave Barry.

Activities include a lineup of spouse tours and other events. They include a dozen tours showcasing the best that Chicago has to offer, including shopping on the Magnificent Mile, a boat cruise on Lake Michigan, an architecture tour, a museum tour, and even a musical tour.

The exposition complements AWWAs technical program, making the annual conference the most comprehensive water industry function in the world. Exposition hours are noon to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Booths will be staffed by organizations and companies that have the products and services to meet the needs, provide the solutions, and answer the unique demands of the water supply community. On display will be information on pipes, valves, meters, hydrants, engineering services, water treatment systems, laboratory equipment and much more.
