The Water Environment Federation’s 82nd annual technical exhibition and conference is expected to draw thousands of water quality professionals to the Orange County Convention Center from October 10-14.
Dr. Mike Magee, MD, a veteran health care leader and author of “Healthy Waters: What Every Health Professional Should Know About Water,” will deliver the keynote address during the Opening General Session of WEFTEC.09, on Oct. 12.
With a program consisting of 122 technical sessions, 31 workshops and nine facility tours, WEFTEC.09 is the largest conference of its kind in North America. Also recognized as the largest water quality exhibition in the world, the WEFTEC exhibition provides attendees with access to the latest water quality developments, research, regulations, solutions, and cutting-edge technologies.
A wide range of topics and focus areas allow attendees to design their own, unique learning experience while earning up to 35 contact hours for continuing education units and 9 professional development hours.
The 2009 focus areas include collection systems, instrumentation, and automation; industrial issues; treatment technology/microconstituents; residuals and biosolids management;, sustainability/energy conservation; utility management; water reclamation and reuse; watershed issues; and more.
This year, the exhibit hall will be closed on Sunday to everyone, including exhibitors. The exhibition will be held from 9-5 Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 12-14. More than 900 exhibitors will be on hand for the event.
