The need to prevent deterioration of water quality in the distribution system has led to increased use of active mixers in storage tanks and reservoirs in recent years. Studies have shown that these installations can increase overall system efficiency and reliability by displacing conventional techniques for maintaining water quality – such as deep cycling of tanks to force turnover.
