It wasn’t long ago that a customer’s water consumption data was scrawled numbers in a route book, or maybe even an estimation of consumption that correlated little with actual use.

It wasn’t long ago that a customer’s water consumption data was scrawled numbers in a route book, or maybe even an estimation of consumption that correlated little with actual use. Water providers only needed a single data point to generate a monthly or quarterly bill for their customers. Today, faced with any number of issues, from supply constraints to distribution system reliability, water providers are realizing the value of accurate, timely and manageable meter data and how it can be used to address their operational and resource challenges.
