WaterWorld and its publisher, PennWell Corp., will host a virtual, online conference and exhibition for the water industry April 20-21. VirtualH2O will be live and interactive. Attendees will be able to visit booths on the trade show floor, attend conference sessions and chat with their peers in the global water market – with no travel and no cost involved.
Conference presentations will include papers on municipal drinking water, municipal wastewater, industrial water, stormwater and urban water management, among other topics. Conference presentations will be produced as Webcasts – essentially on-line PowerPoint presentations – and the speakers will be available for an interactive, live Q&A session at the conclusion of each presentation.
Virtual "booths" on the show floor will be manned by exhibiting company personnel who will greet and chat with visitors, very much like a normal trade show. Attendees can download product information, watch videos or chat live with product specialists.
As with all good trade shows, the event will also include a lounge where attendees can chat and interact with their peers in real time.
The virtual tradeshow concept is a recent evolution in the Internet. Last fall, Hach Co. broke ground in the water market when it hosted the Water Experts Virtual Conference in cooperation with PennWell. That one-day conference and exhibition attracted 2400 registrants from around the globe.
For those that are new to the concept of virtual tradeshows, a video guide is available to demonstrate what you will see and experience during a virtual event. For more information on WaterWorld's VirtualH20 and to view the video guide, visit www.virtualh2oevent.com
