Leak detection
To eliminate the problems associated with fluid leaking from tanks, pumps, vessels, trays and other containers, Baumer has introduced the FODK 23 Optical Sensor for Leak Monitoring. The evaluation electronics for this sensor are housed in a chemically resistant, IP67-rated sheath made of Teflon PFA, which allows the device to withstand exposure to a range of liquids including acids, alkalis and any other non-conductive liquids. Typically, 1 ml of leaked liquid will make the sensor react. The sensor is screwed or glued onto a dry floor or base panel in the area where leakage might occur. The sensor's PVC or PFA installation clip allows the device to be snapped into place and removed quickly without requiring tools.

MBR system

Hose pumps
The Abaque Series of peristaltic hose pumps from Blackmer® have been designed to handle abrasive, aggressive, shear-sensitive and viscous materials in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment applications. The pumps are constructed with ductile iron and steel materials, allowing higher discharge pressures to 217.5 psi. Their seal-free design eliminates leaks, contamination and product loss while reducing maintenance and repairs. Three different types of hoses are available: Natural rubber, Buna or NBR, and EPDM. Available in nine different sizes, ranging from flow rates of .07 to 237 gpm, the pumps are self-priming to 29.5 ft. The pump is also able to run dry continuously without detrimental effects, handle a high concentration of solids, and is capable of running in forward or reverse.

Solids level monitoring
BinMaster® Level Controls has released the SmartBob-SS sensor, which is specially designed to measure submersed solids under water. The sensor drops a weighted Bob through the liquid; when the Bob comes into contact with solid settled material at the bottom of the tank, it retracts and sends a measurement to a SmartBob control console or a PC loaded with eBob software. The sensor's special design comes configured with a 3-inch standpipe for ease of installation, a stainless steel cable that stands up to corrosive materials, and a SureDrop cap that prevents the weight from being retracted into the pipe and protects the device from unwanted material entering through the standpipe.
