Koch Membrane Systems expands operations in Asia

Membrane filtration systems developer and manufacturer adds offices and staff to its Asia/Pacific operations in response to increased demand for products and services. It opens a new office in Beijing, China, and moves to larger facilities in Shanghai, China, and Mumbai, India, as well as appointing new regional manager for Australasia in Sydney...

WILMINGTON, MA, March 10, 2005 -- Koch Membrane Systems Inc. (KMS), a world-class developer and manufacturer of innovative membrane filtration systems, is expanding its Asia/Pacific operations in response to increased demand for its products and services. KMS has opened a new office in Beijing, China, and moved to larger facilities in Shanghai, China, and Mumbai, India. The following new personnel have also been added to offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Sydney, Australia:

-- Mr. Feng Zhang joins the Beijing office as sales manager. He has over 15 years of industry experience, including service as a chemical engineer at the North China Electric Power Research Institute and as project manager of Beijing Metito Water Company, a Sino-USA joint venture. Zhang holds a master's degree in water treatment science from Wuhan University in China.

-- Ms. Yanhua Xia joins the KMS Shanghai office as technical sales engineer, assisting in system commissioning and customer training. Xia has nine years of water treatment systems experience and is a graduate of Wuhan University in China. She also holds a master's degree in environmental engineering from the National University of Singapore.

-- Mr. Hongwei Zeng joins the KMS China team as sales engineer in Beijing. Zeng is skilled in working with reverse osmosis and other water treatment systems, particularly in system commissioning and troubleshooting. He was a professional engineer in North China Electric Power Groups and a site engineer for North China Electric Power Research Institute. He holds a master's degree in corrosion protection of thermal power equipment from Wuhan University in China.

-- Mark Forbes joins the company as the new regional manager for Australasia. Based at the Koch Australia Pty. Ltd. office in Sydney, Forbes will manage membrane business for Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and the South Pacific Islands. A research and development chemist by training, he holds an applied science diploma from Preston Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Deakin University. He has held positions of increasing responsibility with major worldwide membrane technology companies throughout his career, including general management positions with USFilter, SA Water, and most recently with Environmental Waste Technologies in Australia.
