Displays new solution to plant floor to enterprise data exchange at Allen-Bradley Automation Fair...

KNOXVILLE, TN, Aug. 4, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Online Development Inc. will be displaying their xCoupler Enterprise Transaction Module in booth 111 at the Allen-Bradley Automation Fair. This module is designed to snap into the backplane of Allen-Bradley ControlLogix PLCs to provide secure and simple two-tier data communications between various plant floor devices connected to ControlLogix and a wide range of enterprise server communications protocols including IBM WebSphere® MQ and Broker technology including WMQTT® and DB2, Oracle, Microsoft SQL, SMTP and TCP/IP.

These modules eliminate the security, virus and data integrity problems associated with factory floor PC-operated multi-tier systems connected to the enterprise. The xCoupler module's operating system is virtually immune to security problems and virus attacks and provides exceptional data accuracy and timeliness. Plant floor devices cannot affect the operation of the xCoupler module and the module's operation cannot affect plant floor devices.

Programming these modules is accomplished using the xCoupler module's WorkBench(TM) software tool. Its drag and drop configurator makes programming simple and easy with no special programming skills required. It also eliminates the need for enterprise drivers and upgrade maintenance in the future.

Regular demonstrations of the xCoupler module and the WorkBench configuration tool will be conducted in the booth and technical personnel will be available to answer specific application questions.
