LONG BEACH, CA, Jan. 12, 2005 -- Earth Tech Inc., a business unit of Tyco International Ltd., and a global provider of consulting, engineering and construction services, has been selected for two water resources contracts in Ireland that have a combined valued of more than US$37 million.
Under the first contract, valued at $20 million and awarded by Fingal County Council, Earth Tech will design and build a new wastewater treatment plant and remote pumping stations just north of Dublin. After a two-year construction phase, Earth Tech will operate and maintain the facility for 20 years. The plant will serve more than 30,000 people in the towns of Balbriggan and Skerries.
In Northern Ireland, Earth Tech is the lead partner in a joint venture that has won a $17.2 million, two-year contract to build a new water treatment plant in Crossmaglen. Earth Tech and Farrans Construction Ltd. will design, build and operate a facility for the Department of Regional Development Water Service. The plant will serve the nearby towns and villages of Crossmaglen, Mullaghbane, Newtownhamilton and Belleeks.
