NORTH ANDOVER, Mass., Jan. 5, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Watts Water Technologies Inc. announced it has acquired HF Scientific, Inc. located in Fort Myers, Fla., in a stock purchase transaction.

HF Scientific manufactures and distributes a line of instrumentation equipment, test kits and chemical reagents used for monitoring water quality in a variety of applications. It has approximately $5 million in annual revenue.

Watts Water Technologies' CEO Patrick S. O'Keefe commented, "The acquisition of HF Scientific represents our entry into the water monitoring market. The products of HF Scientific are consistent with our theme of water quality and provide many synergistic opportunities when utilized in conjunction with our filtration and other water quality businesses. HF Scientific's products include devices to measure turbidity and for monitoring other parameters such as residual chlorine, streaming current and UV percentage transmission. Their product offering represents a comprehensive line of on-line continuous monitoring instruments, as well as instrumentation for laboratory and field use."
