CALGARY, AB, Canada, Nov. 23, 2005 -- Telvent, a global real-time information technology company, has been selected by the city of Columbus, Ohio, to upgrade the existing SAGE and OASyS 5.2 Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems at its Dublin Road Water Plant to OASyS 6.3UX.

Telvent was chosen for the project, following an open bid process, based on its recent successful upgrades at the City's Hap Cremean Water Plant and its distribution network. As a result of the upgrade to OASyS 6.3UX, the Dublin Road Plant will benefit from, among other things, enhanced security, remote access capability, enhanced trending and a distributed architecture system design. In addition to the new OASyS system, Telvent will also provide a Decision Support Server (DSS) and @WEB capabilities to the city.

As indicated by Telvent's Chairman, Manuel Sanchez Ortega, "This project is Telvent's third with the City of Columbus' Water Division in the last three years and we are very proud of our strong, ongoing relationship with the City. Telvent's technology will help to optimize the information flow at the water plant that is so crucial for making sound business decisions."

The city of Columbus's Division of Water is comprised of three independent water supply and treatment plants and one distribution network, all of which are currently running Telvent control and automation management systems of various vintages. Combined, the City's water supply and distribution system consists of 3300 miles of waterline and provides over 130,000,000 gallons of water per day for more than 1,000,000 people living and working in the Central Ohio area.
