PORTLAND, OR, Nov. 29, 2005 -- The Washington State Department of Ecology (Ecology) has issued a Conditional (Short-Term) Use Level Designation (CUD) for Basic Treatment for the VortFilter®, Stormwater360 announced yesterday. This CUD makes the VortFilter available for situations with low hydraulic drop conditions for stormwater treatment. Along with the Stormwater Management StormFilter®, Stormwater360 offers a complete line of filtration products to meet the requirements of every site.
Stormwater360™ is currently searching for candidate sites to monitor the VortFilter in accordance with Ecology's Guidance for Evaluating Emerging Stormwater Treatment Technologies, Technology Assessment Protocol -- Ecology (TAPE).
In January of this year, after extensive field monitoring using the TAPE, the StormFilter received the General Use Level Designation for Basic Treatment. The StormFilter is the first and only stand-alone proprietary technology that has received this designation by Ecology.
"Our focus is on designing premier systems to meet the most stringent stormwater treatment requirements," said Chief Technology Officer James Lenhart, PE, "and the VortFilter design is specifically for sites with low drop considerations."
Merged from two industry leaders with over 25 years of combined experience in the stormwater industry, Stormwater360 (www.stormwater360.com) is a progressive, innovative company with a mission to preserve and protect water resources worldwide.
