PHOENIX, Sept. 26, 2005 -- PureTech Systems Inc. and Southwest Microwave have cooperated to provide an integrated perimeter intrusion detection solution that not only detects a security breach, but also directs PTZ cameras to the point of intrusion.
PureTech is a leading-edge developer of advanced wide-area surveillance and intrusion detection systems that provide life and asset protection for firms and government, facilities with expansive outdoor and geographically distributed operations. By using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), advanced scene analysis, and policy-based detection rules and notification technology, the PureActiv™ solution equips security personnel with specific alarm information, including the exact location and type of security threat.
Southwest Microwave is a market-leading provider of intrusion detection systems including the Intrepid® MicroPoint fence detection sensor cable. Intrepid is a next-generation, fence-mounted perimeter security system that detects fence disturbances and locates an intruder to within 3 meters (10 ft).
"We are very excited to provide this joint solution to our customers, who can now save significant time setting up their perimeter protection system and have a superior detection and response solution," said Larry Bowe, PureTech Systems president.
PureTech and Southwest Microwave have integrated their respective products to form a seamless perimeter intrusion detection solution. This combined solution detects intruders attempting to penetrate a fence and automatically steers PTZ cameras to the precise point of intrusion to catch the perpetrator in the act. The solution requires no camera presets because Southwest Microwave's Intrepid system provides the location of the intrusion to the PureActiv system, which translates that location to the precise latitude and longitude using state-of-the-art GIS technology.
"Coupling our detection capabilities with PureTech's scene analysis and geographic command and control interface gives security personnel the real-time situational awareness they need to make informed decisions," said Robert Kirkaldie, sales and marketing director for Southwest Microwave. "The initial response from customers has been very positive."
