NORTHBROOK, IL, Dec. 8, 2005 -- AMRA and the North American Transmission and Distribution (NATD) Exposition and Conference have agreed that AMRA will co-locate its 2006 Summer Regional Meeting with the NATD Conference and Exposition, June 13-15 in Montreal, Canada.
The AMRA educational seminar will focus on automation strategies for electric utilities; program details will be available in early 2006. NATD features an exposition of leading technology vendors as well as sessions about electric networks, systems, equipment and technology.
"Holding these two top-notch educational events in conjunction really benefits utility attendees," says Brian Pollom, AMRA president. "It can be difficult to attend several industry events each year, and we're making it easier for Canadian attendees to get exceptional educational content from AMRA and NATD."
The collaboration also includes co-marketing efforts to Canadian and U.S. audiences.
AMRA, the international voice of the AMR industry, provides information critical to the understanding and application of the wide range of AMR technologies. Through industry analyses, symposia and relevant publications, AMRA serves the business interests of utilities and utility technology suppliers. In addition to regional seminars, the nonprofit membership association offers several educational opportunities each year, including online Webinars and Autovation, the annual international symposium. Autovation 2006 takes place Oct. 22¿25 at the Nashville Convention Center.
The North American Transmission and Distribution Conference and Expo is Canada's only trade show and conference dedicated to the T&D marketplace. Held June 13¿15, 2006, at the Montreal Convention Centre, NATD will host more than 1,500 delegates. In cooperation with Hydro Quebec, NATD will be bringing together the who's who of utility professionals from across Canada and the northeastern U.S. Hydro Quebec's expertise will ensure that high-quality speakers and timely topics will be selected for NATD. More than 200 vendors from across North America are expected to participate. Refer to www.natd.ca for details.
