GE Fanuc unveils first Users Conference 'Discover 2005'

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA, April 19, 2005 -- GE Fanuc Automation Americas Inc., a unit of GE Infrastructure, has announced the "Discover Series" Users Conference, May 23-26 in New Orleans at the Fairmont Hotel.

This first annual GE Fanuc Users Conference will focus on sharing automation best practices -- with speakers from Pfizer, Procter & Gamble, Nissan North America, Alstom Power, Changi Water Reclamation Plant/CH2M HILL, Toyota, Mesa, Ariz., water and wastewater treatment plants, and more. The conference will also highlight best practices and initiatives from GE, such as Lean Six Sigma, Manufacturing Digitization, Change Acceleration, and Work-Out -- with speakers from GE, GE Global Research, and GE Energy.

Additionally, leading automation integrators will present new techniques for optimizing existing equipment assets, proven methods for achieving regulatory compliance, design practices for high availability systems, and many other topics. GE Fanuc will also present hands-on workshops to provide experience with groundbreaking automation applications and solutions - ranging from new data management techniques to motion control to plant-wide production management to controller strategies.

A technology showcase will highlight leading-edge innovation from GE -- featuring solutions for automotive, water / wastewater, life sciences, energy, and oil and gas -- as well as new embedded systems for industrial and other applications.
