NEW YORK, Feb. 4, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Freshwater Technologies Inc. (FWTI), a company dedicated to water safety, has signed a distributor agreement with Promo Andino S.A. to represent FWTI water products in Peru and Ecuador.
FWTI is a wholly owned subsidiary of International Development Corp. (IVDL).
Promo Andino is an import/export company based in Lima, Peru. Promo Andino will provide FWTI's ozone and ultra violet drinking water products, as well as and our water activation equipment to improve the operating efficiency of boilers and cooling systems. Their target markets are hospitals, government installations and the significant fish processing industry in the coastal areas of Peru and Ecuador
Max Weissengruber, president of IDVL, stated, "Water activation is effective in considerably decreasing operational costs in industrial and commercial water systems, by reducing the scale build up caused by encrustations and salts in the water supply. Even 1 millimeter of scale build up results in an 8% increase in energy costs due to the reduction of water flow. Chemical treatment, currently used to combat scale in industrial and commercial water systems, can be expensive and also harmful to the environment. FWTI's chemical free solution not only addresses the scale reduction needs of our customers, it offers our customers and the public environmental improvement."
FWTI believes that its focus on effective, chemical-free technologies such as ultraviolet, ozone and water activation can meet increasingly stringent environmental standards in a safe and profitable manner.
