DAMMAM, Saudi Arabia, Feb. 22, 2005 -- The Amiantit Group of Companies has restructured its worldwide operations with the formation of a Corporate Core, four geographical Strategic Business Units for the group's pipe business, and a separate SBU for Water Management projects.
As explained by CEO Fareed al Khalawi, the restructuring has been designed to establish the Amiantit Group as global player in pipe solutions, water management and technologies to manufacture pipes. It also enables Amiantit to extend its international activities and to offer improved services for business associates, customers, suppliers and employees worldwide.
As a result of the global structure, the Amiantit's former division of International Operations (SAMIO) is not anymore required. In this context, Mr. Bengt Carlström, the former President of SAMIO, has left the company and is no longer representing or associated with the Amiantit Group.
As of today, Amiantit has manufacturing sites and sales offices in more than 45 countries.
