Dataloggers record water levels in water-short areas
Pressure transmitters with dataloggers from STS Sensor Technik Sirnach AG record and archive measurements in reservoirs, rivers, phreatic water, boreholes and sewage treatment plants. Dataloggers that record water levels autonomously are being used increasingly in areas experiencing water shortages.
The model with the display indicates current measurement values on the device, which replaces the use of on-site manometers. The datalogger is available for pressure ranges of 60 mbar to 1,000 bar and can be used to store 130,000 measurements. At a measurement interval of 10 min., this corresponds to data collection over a period of 2 years without read-out. This is a great advantage in extended and uninhabited regions since read-out can take place at very long intervals.
Measurement data stored can be read out at measuring site by means of a handheld or pocket device and evaluated independently of the mains. The data can be transferred to the PC for further evaluation using PC programs, such as Excel. Measurement data can be transmitted from the site to an IR printer using the infrared interface of the datalogger with display, and can then be printed out for logging.

Leak positioning system delivers data to office PC
Zonescan-Alpha, an automated leak positioning and hydro alarm system, delivers precise leak location information to the operators' office personal computer on a daily basis, eliminating the need to drive by the loggers to download the data. Strategically positioned Zonescan Communication Links contact loggers on a daily basis to collect the latest leakage data. The data is then automatically passed to the operators' PC via a Master Comlink using either PSTN (landline) or GSM communications media. This information is automatically imported into Windows™-based Zonescan software, enabling the operator to see the location of probable leaks from each of the logged points across the network.

Bullhorn monitors remote equipment at low cost
American Innovations' Bullhorn monitors water- and wastewater-related remote equipment with wireless technology at low cost. It monitors wells, pumps, lift stations, storage tanks, effluent overflow, pressure, pH, temperature, flowmeters and other equipment. Bullhorn instantly notifies by fax, page and/or email immediately when the status of a piece of equipment reaches a pre-programmed alarm situation. If a pump motor trips or generates inadequate pressure, Bullhorn will inform users before a regulatory event occurs so technicians can respond quickly.
