US water treatment company Culligan International has launched an Industrial Water (IW) Reverse Osmosis System membrane system to treat a variety of industrial and commercial water treatment processes. Available for flow requirements from 22 to 200 gallons per minute (GPM) with salinity levels up to 4,500 parts-per-million (PPM), the system is designed for applications such as the pre-treatment for high-purity requirements, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, water jet cutting, potabilization for drinking water, power generation and more.
Culligan said its configurator tool offers nearly 100 different pre-engineered combinations of features to be built into a perfect reverse osmosis application.

Ultra High Porosity Feed Spacers for BWRO
Conwed has launched its new line of Ultra High Porosity™ (UHP) feed spacers for Brackish Water Reverse Osmosis (BWRO) systems. The UHP feed spacers have been designed to help decrease the resistance to liquid flow in BWRO systems with an equivalent water flux rate - the rate at which water permeates a reverse osmosis membrane. These new feed spacers are designed for BWRO spiral wound elements. Conwed said its engineering team focused on the spacers’ porosity ratio to improve water pressure drop. The company believes that modifying the porosity of a feed spacer, just like other features, can have a number of benefits depending on the material and final product application.
