KSB reports strong growth in Asia
The German pump manufacturer KSB Aktiengesellschaft of Frankenthal reports that its strongest growth for the first half of 2005 is once again in Asia, while the global economy lost some momentum during this period. The growth in orders was particularly strong in the Group companies in China, India, Indonesia and Pakistan.
A beneficial climate of growth prevailed in the countries of the Gulf region, which profited from higher oil prices, as well as in Latin America. Western industrialized nations showed an overall positive economic development, although it was less marked than in the previous year.
The Group achieved double-digit percentage growth in the industrial and water business and in the mining sector, which the US subsidiary GIW Industries Inc. services with slurry pumps.
For the growing seawater desalination market, KSB extended its HGM-reverse osmosis, high-pressure pump series, which has been installed in many desalination plants. The new series now includes five additional standard sizes to allow the company to supply pump sets with flow rates of up to 1,150m3/h and discharge heads of 950m.
