Research conducted by Italian pump maker Caprari has led to creation of ENDURANCE, the new pump series equipped with DEFENDER™, a smart device designed, tested and patented by the company to protect pumps from electrochemical corrosion and galvanic currents, passivating the stainless steel so as to create a safety barrier.

The new series is microcast in stainless steel seamless construction, which offers superior efficiency ratings as it allows hydraulic profiles to be optimized. This means less friction and turbulence, while the hydraulic profiles themselves are less pronounced. Optimized efficiency ratings lead to energy and life cycle financial savings: the maximum quality/price ratio.

The thick stainless steel used and seamless construction make the new pump series extremely resistant to wear from sand and abrasion in general.

Sealless pump crucial for liquid containment

Viking Pump’s Composite Mag Drive (CMD) is a groundbreaking series of sealless, non-metallic pumps specially designed for crucial liquid containment applications, including corrosive chemicals, VOCs and flammable liquids. Due to the pump’s engineered-fluoropolymer and ceramic-wetted material design and construction, the series of pumps can handle the entire pH range and offers advanced durability, broader compatibility and corrosion resistance. The new series is also available at a lower cost of acquisition compared to other exotic metallic pumps on the market.

New Armstrong valves

Armstrong extended its range of commissioning valves for applications from DN15 to DN300. New additions are rugged, commercial/industrial grade BS-7350 compliant ARMflo CBV-G commissioning valves, constructed of ductile iron in DN65, DN80, DN100, DN125, DN150, DN200, DN250 and DN-300 sizes. The multi-turn micrometer style handle enables precise valve adjustment to design flow rates with high repeatability. They’re delivered as variable orifice double regulating valves with grooved connections. A wye-pattern globe valve design cuts turbulence induction and sensitivity compared to low-end “butterflies”. A split-case body design enables quick conversion from straight to 90° elbow.

A new range of sewage pumps from Tsurumi meet the full requirements of the ATEX European Directive on the protection of workers in explosive atmospheres. There are presently 11 models available from three ranges: the BX-Series, CX-Series and UX-Series – each featuring individual characteristics for different uses. Applications for the ATEX pumps will be in sewage plants, pumping stations for untreated wastewater and manure tanks (used in the farming industry). The first models were delivered in early January and were among products showcased by Tsurumi at environmental expo IFAT in Munich in May.

Netzsch’s dual-stator system as standard

Following Netzsch’s new dual-stator system launch last year, the company announced the iFD-Stator® is now fitted as standard to all NM Series pumps with a nominal rotor diameter between 21mm and 63mm. Endorsed by the German Environmental Foundation, the system comprises a stator and stator housing offering significant advantages in capacity, economy and environmental protection. Compatible with all NEMO® pumps from the NM series, it prolongs stator lifetime and reduces lifecycle costs thanks to its manoeuvrability within the two-part reusable housing. The use of a separate housing and stator means that, when worn, only the stator needs to be replaced and is therefore more easily disgarded.
