Haestad Methods has closed a strategic sale with Sanepar, one of the largest water supply and wastewater treatment companies in Latin America.

WATERBURY, Conn., Aug. 5, 2002 -- Haestad Methods recently announced closing a strategic sale with Sanepar, one of the largest water supply and wastewater treatment companies in Latin America, which serves more than seven million residents and over 95 percent of the population in Parana, Brazil.

The Brazilian utility selected Haestad Methods' WaterCAD and SewerCAD water resources modeling software to conduct design analysis, risk assessment, and remedial activities. In this way, Haestad Methods' technology will be used to maintain and preserve Sanepar's 600 water distribution and 250 sanitary sewer networks in Parana.

"WaterCAD has been an excellent tool for the analysis and design of our water distribution systems," said Ms. Katia Regina Garcia De Silva, Civil Engineer for Sanepar. "The software's most valuable characteristics include its speed and reliable results."

Sanepar has long recognized Haestad Methods' products for their ease of use, flexibility, and powerful features. Over the course of its seven-year relationship with Haestad Methods, Sanepar has purchased more than 30 individual licenses of Haestad Methods' software attributing to increased efficiency and reduce costs of operating its water and wastewater networks.

"Haestad Methods is proud to have strengthened its long-standing commitment to the Brazilian market," said Norelis Florentino, Latin America Sales Manager for Haestad Methods. "We look forward to extending our reach throughout Brazil by offering technical advancements that help improve the way our clients manage their water resources."
