The Westchester Department of Environmental Facilities has awarded a contract to Severn Trent's Environmental Contract Services Group for the upgrade of facilities at the main wastewater treatment plant in Ossining, New York. Improvements will be made to existing facilities and systems that are reaching the ends of their useful lives.
Severn Trent's contract will include improvements to three of the facility's four main sewage pumps, three primary and three secondary clarifiers, two thickeners and various sludge pumps at the facility. Additionally, Severn Trent will modify the system that monitors the facility's chlorine disinfection system to improve efficiencies. The contract is valued at $1.6 million.
