MycroSENSOR™ technologies to transfer manufacturing to new Phoenix base

MycroSENSOR™ Technologies will move most of its manufacturing operations from the Philadelphia area to Phoenix within the next few months, company executives announced recently.

PHOENIX, Ariz., June 18, 2002 -- MycroSENSOR™ Technologies, which develops and manufactures specialty measurement and control equipment for the process industries, will move most of its manufacturing operations from the Philadelphia area to Phoenix within the next few months, company executives announced recently.

MycroSENSOR, whose administrative offices have been based in Phoenix since the company's founding in 2001, will centralize its operations in a leased 23,000-square-foot building on the west side of the city. The move will occur during the third quarter of this year.

The address of the new building is 2362 West Shangri La Road.

About 15,000 square feet of the space will be dedicated to the manufacturing of MycroSENSOR's XTC®instruments for the measure of pressure, flow and level, with the remainder dedicated to executive offices, said Jay Corley, MycroSENSOR Technologies' president.

Approximately 20 people will be employed in MycroSENSOR's new headquarters initially, with that number likely to grow as the business expands, Corley said.

MycroSENSOR Technologies was formed last year to purchase and continue development of field instruments initially marketed by Moore Products of Spring House, PA. Siemens Energy and Automation purchased Moore Products last year and had been planning to discontinue part of Moore's product line. MycroSENSOR currently manufacturers its products in the former Moore Products plant in Spring House.

Since MycroSENSOR began business in 2001, it has built a nationwide chain of distributors and plans to expand into international markets as well.

In addition to manufacturing its XTC line of instruments in the new Phoenix plant, MycroSENSOR will fabricate its own silicon chips there.

"By producing our own chips, we can maintain the quality control we require to meet our customers' demands for high-precision instruments that can meet their stringent demands," Corley said.

While the company will move production of its XTC line of products to Phoenix, manufacture of its Fluidic Flowmeter line will remain in the Philadelphia area.

"The Fluidic Flowmeters are different in character from our other products, and our Philadelphia-area personnel have unique expertise in manufacturing them, so it makes sense for us to keep those operations in the East," Corley said.
